Front Hub Bearing Crush Sleeve

A necessity for high speed operation, this bearing spacer and crush sleeve kit is designed to keep the spindle more rigid, let wheel bearings run cooler and adds another locking mechanism to the nut torque. Kit comes complete with sleeve, shims and instructions.

Installation Instructions 

• Clean hub and bearing to ensure they are free of all grease and dirt.

• Cover hub bearing with light oil. Install hub and bearing on spindle using spacer and enough shims to have .001" end play on hub with castle nut tightened to 70 ft. lbs.

• When you obtain .001" end play as seen on dial indicator, turn hub in both directions at least three times and recheck. If end play is not .001", adjust shims and repeat rotation.

• Disassemble  hub and bearings, wash bearings to remove oil and pack bearings in normal manner. Replace setup shims with new shims (add .003" max.)

• Reinstall packed hub assembly on spindle and torque to 50 - 70 ft. lbs.  (DO NOT EXCEED 70 FT. LBS) Install cotter key. If cotter key fails to lineup properly, hand sand the nut on a flat surface or resurface tanged washer. Under no circumstances should tanged washer be thinner than .080". (TANGED WASHER MUST BE SURFACE GROUND ON BOTH SIDES TO ENSURE ALIGNMENT WHEN TORQUED)
