The History Of Stock Car Products

Stock Car Products was established in Santa Fe Springs California by Tom Hamilton in 1968. Emanuel Zervakis became the East Coast distributor in the spring of 1973, opening a facility in Richmond Virginia. With a two-coast operation, Stock Car Products soon grew into one of the largest suppliers of racing parts and chassis in the United States.

Hamilton decided to retire and sell Stock Car Products in 1988. There were no interested buyers for the only manufacturer of Winston Cup spindles, hubs, and steering arms. That coupled with the sale of Holman-Moody a few years before would have left the racing industry without a supplier for those items.

Zervakis stepped forward and bought the company from Hamilton.

Since the purchase, SCP has steadily added to its inventory and now stocks over 7500 racing parts and components.

Under Zervakis, SCP developed numerous innovations in the racing industry, including, one of the first to develop Cambered Rear technology. With Zervakis built and owned race cars and A.E. "Butch" Zervakis as crew chief, many of today's top drivers got their starts in Zervakis Busch and Winston Cup cars including: Geoffrey Bodine, Mark Martin, Dale Jarrett, and Ricky Rudd. In fact, Rudd won his first super speedway race at Dover Downs Raceway in the late 70's driving a Zervakis built racecar.

With the combined experience of Emanuel and his sons in building and preparing racecars, SCP rose to the top of the racing industry in the 80's and 90's and now has entered the next millennium as the leader in building quality chassis components.
